The Everyday Miracles Never Cease

This has been a beautiful, incredible, miracle filled week!
The first miracle this week was that it rained! I think I can count on one or maybe two hands how many times it has rained in the last year.
The second miracle is that our investigator Sarah who is getting married at the end of this month, and getting baptized next month, dumped out all of her coffee into the trash can. She has been suffering from headaches but she has been strong and she has quit drinking coffee! Woohoo!
The third miracle is that I got to see so many people I love this week! Sister Lindsey came to visit her mission and we had lunch together. She is a past companion and very dear friend. I also got to see some other former companions and people from Cypress that I never get to see. There were tears of joy and hugs and smiles and laughs of old times!
The fourth miracle is that I got called to be a Sister Training Leader (STL). This means that I am a leader over a few of the sister companionships in our mission. This way they can come to someone if they need help. I also get to train them and be an example for them. It's kind of a big deal but not really, haha, just something that you look forward to in your mission. I have always looked up to my STL's and I cant imagine my mission without them so it is a privilage to be one myself! I pray that I can have an impact on my sisters like my STL's had on me. I am so excited! My new companion is Sister Culala and we will be serving in the Pleasant View Ward in the Huntington Beach South Stake. Sister Culala is from the Philippians and has been on her mission for around 10 months now I think.
So I have a funny story! We had a lesson with one of our investigators this week about the Law of Chastity. The Law of Chastity is having no sexual relations before you are married and all things in that category. So lessons can be awkward if you make them awkward. So I was doing most of the teaching and I turned to my companion and I said.."do you have anything to share or add to what I have said?" and she said..."no I think you covered all the bases" hahahahahahahahahaha we all died laughing. It was "punny."
I just wanted to add a short testimony to my blog today. I know that happiness is not found in the world but that it is found through Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. But it doesn't just come when you believe in Them (although it comes a little bit then), but it truly comes when you serve Them and when you follow Them. As members in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we follow Him. We  follow Jesus Christ and God our Eternal Father. Come join us. Many things help me to follow Jesus Christ and one of those things is having a prophet on the earth today. Of course I still have my personal relationship with Heavenly Father, so why do we need a prophet? Because the windows of Heaven are not closed. We didn't just have prophets in the old days but God calls prophets now and He gives them power just as He did Moses, Noah and Abraham. With this knowledge, I know that God is real and I need to be prepared to meet Him someday. He isn't going to add up everything I did right or wrong but He is going to see what and who I have become. I don't know about you, but I want to be prepared for that day. So does it come just from attending church on Sunday? No, it comes through being a Disciple of Christ and following Him at all times, in all things, and in all places. That might sound difficult but it is possible, we just have to keep trying and keep changing until the last day, and maybe even after that we will continue to change. Anyways, I know this Gospel is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ restored on the earth today and there is nothing more important in this world than that. So if you believe its true, then change and come join us in following our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I love you and leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Happy Mother's Day!

This week was Mother's Day and I got to call home and talk to my family! I got to hear from my loving parents, my beautiful sister, and my inspiring brother and his wife and kids. It was very much needed!
So I ike to be spontaneous, especially on the mission because girls just need to have fun. So my companion and I saw a Spanish food cart in one of the neighborhoods on the way to a lesson. I have never seen one of these until I moved to California but they sometimes have this corn stuff or you can get a frozen drink. Well I wanted to try it! So we got this Mexican drink, it was some kind of pepper mango thing but of course I don't speak Spanish and K had no clue what I was getting. Then they put some Mexican candy on it too! Well, it was super nasty! I don't recommend it! haha

One of my favorite things to do on my mission is to teach people how to pray. To hear someone pray to God for the first time, or the first time in a long time, is really really special. They are so sincere! I can really feel warm and fuzzy inside when that happens:) I always get so excited when they accept my invitation for them to pray, I know Heavenly Father loves us so much!

We have a baptismal date on June 20th for our investigator Sarah! She is getting married at the end of this month and baptized next month! yay!! Missionaries have worked with her for a long time. She decided to take a break and try other churches but she really felt that ours was for her! It was so great! Ok I have to go! Love you all!

Without Jesus Christ, Life has no Purpose.

Well this week has been great! We found 6 new investigators and set another baptismal date! We feel very blessed, these are real people that want to come closer to Jesus Christ.
My favorite part of my week was yesterday at church. There is a man named Brother Gardiner and he was looking things up on the internet about science to try to understand the universe and God more. He said it did the opposite effect, it made him have questions and doubts. So he asked if we could come share some lessons with him. We taught him the Restoration of the Gospel and the Plan of Salvation. Then yesterday, he looked at me right in the eyes and told me that we changed his attitude and his feelings. That he was no longer having these questions and we helped strengthen his testimony. Of course, it was the Holy Ghost that bears witness of all truth but I was grateful that he was able to feel a change when he went back to the basic foundation of his knowledge. At the time of Jesus Christ, people were beginning to chase Him away and wanted to stone Him and take His life. It always makes my heart wrench when I picture Jesus having to run from people who wanted to kill him. The scriptures say,
"From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God."
I know that Jesus Christ is the only way to find true peace and happiness in this life and in the life to come. I will always choose to follow and believe in Him, because without Him we have an awful world to live in and no reason behind it. But with Him, we know that there is purpose and that there is hope. I love Him and I believe He is my Savior and Redeemer. When we taught Brother Gardiner.. he knew there was no where else to go but to believe in Jesus Christ. We offered him this video about how to bring science and religion together. I wanted to share it with you guys! Its really short!

I hope you have a beautiful week!
